A day of “extreme installation” of units on Kinder Scout with Moors for the Future in conjunction with their long term blanket bog restoration project.
The peat underneath was not frozen, so the install was fairly straightforward once the snow was cleared. Here we are installing an unit that tracks Overland Water Flow by elevating the first zone above the ground–any water flowing by during heavy rain can be measured.
This unit sits down into a dipwell and can transmit water depth along the 50cm depth of the probe.
All in all, a fun day out!
