Monitoring a Yorkshire Dales River Trust NFM Project in Bishopdale

The Bishopdale Natural Flood Management (NFM) project implemented by Yorkshire Dales River Trust is one of 50 Defra NFM funded pilot schemes. They worked with the landowners and farmers within the catchment for three years to plan and implement it.

YDRT asked Dales Land Net to monitor the NFM features installed within the catchment. We placed a series of units in the scrapes that have been built to slow water flow.

In addition, units have been installed in the ghyll above the farm, including this one to monitor flow depth at one of the leaky dams that was installed.
