Lockdown begins later today, so we raced to install 8 soil moisture units plus a rain gauge at Swarthghyll Farm at the very top of the River Wharfe. At this site, we are working with Yorkshire Dales River Trust along with the local farm owner.

We decided to try out an idea: in a spot with regular overland flow, place a unit so that the entirety of Zone 1 is exposed. When overland water flows past, Zone 1 will read it, providing the data in real time.
